
MERANTI
Meranti is a mixed-species grouping of Shorea species native to Southeast Asia. Meranti woods are classified commercially based on their density and color. Meranti is a popular wood for joinery and plywood. Light red meranti and white Launa are pale pink to mid-red hardwoods, whereas Dark red meranti and red Launa are medium to dark–red-brown hardwoods.
