
BURMA TEAK
Teak is native to India, Thailand, Indonesia, Indo-China, and Burma . It varies from yellow-brown to dark brown and eventually turns rich brown upon exposure to air Teak has an uneven and coarse texture; it is usually straight-grained and distinctly oily. In addition, the heartwood has a high degree of natural durability concerning decay and insect attack. It also has excellent dimensional stability. Teak is in some way variable, but generally, it does work with moderate ease with machine and hand tools.
Characteristics
- General Properties: Color ranges from golden yellow to dark which appears in streaks when new.
- Working Properties: Durable, treatable and little moisture movement, which advances usage to making furniture, doors and floors.
