It varies from yellow-brown to dark brown and eventually turns rich brown upon exposure to air Teak has an uneven and coarse texture; it is usually straight-grained and distinctly oily. In addition, the heartwood has a high degree of natural durability concerning decay and insect attack. It also has excellent dimensional stability. Teak is in some way variable, but generally, it does work with moderate ease with machine and hand tools.
