
Ponderosa Pine
The largest western pine species, the ponderosa pine, can be found on semi-arid highlands and slopes. Light in color and straight-grained, ranging from cream to yellow to pale reddish-brown, the wood is nonporous with a fine and homogeneous texture. Ponderosa pine is utilized for a variety of exterior and interior goods and light and medium architecture.

- General Properties: The wood is identifiable characteristics are black and tend to be scaly and rough on the back.
- Working Properties: It can be easily worked with hands or machines. The properties allow for better gluing and finishing; however, the presence prevents successful painting.
