It generally works straightforwardly with tools and is straight grained. Also, it is stable when in use. On the other hand, the white walnut (butternut) has light brown heartwood and white sapwood. In addition, the timber is considered as light in weight moderately weak in bending and endwise compression Butternut is similar to black walnut but has lesser strength and hardness in some ways. Primary uses for butternut include lumber and veneer.
